1 Scott Avenue, Cootamundra - View on Google maps
Goon but not Forgotten . . .
Bloodnok, Eccles, Seagoon, Bluebottle, Minnie Bannister, Henry Crun, Moriarty and Grytpype-Thynne. By courtesy of the electric wireless and vinyl recordings, we can once again listen to their crazy adventures.
Where ? "Chaplin's Shed (1 Scott Avenue, Coota)"
When ? "Saturday 29th June, from 6pm"
Why ? [Eccles]: "Why not, my good man ?"
So, if you're a dyed-in-the-wool Goons fan, or even wondering what this is about, why not arm yourself with a comfortable chair, some food to share and drinks of your choice, and join us for a night of 1950s Pommie madness.
It will be mid-winter, but we will have both pot belly fires going, hot soup and tea and coffee.
Our plan is to present a DVD titled "The Last Goon Show of All" from 1972, showing the brilliance/lunacy of Messrs Milligan, Sellers and Secombe.
Then to listen to one or two of the original 1950s half-hour radio shows, selecting from titles such as "The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler", "Napoleon's Piano", "The House of Teeth", "The Mighty Wurlitzer", "The Affair of the Lone Banana" etc.
